In doing research, make the library and the library web page your primary source of information. For books, use the library online catalog and online books.

For articles, many full-text,  use the online periodical indexes available via EBSCOhost, Facts on File, and First Search.

ERIC, Education Resources Information Center, provides more than 107,000 full-text non-journal documents (issued 1993-2004), previously available through fee-based services only, are now available for free. 

While web pages on the Internet may contain valuable information, you need to critically evaluate each source.

American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education - Contains information on teacher training and related programs.

Colleges and Financial Aid - Developed by Texas Comptroller, John Sharp, the Minnie Stevens Piper Foundation and the Texas Guaranteed Student Loan Corporation the site offers information about college scholarships, state/federal financial aid programs, Texas colleges and universities, and careers.

College and University Rankings - provides a compendium of links to online college ranking services for undergraduate and graduate programs, business schools, law schools, and international universities.

FastWEB - College Financial Aid - The Internet's largest free scholarship search.

Community College Web - searchable database provides links to 1,122 community colleges in the US as well as a collection of 192 resources related to community colleges that you can search by keyword or by category.

GoCollege - Gives college-bound students a quick and easy way to match their test results to their desired majors, geographic location, and tuition dollars available.
